Community Involvement :: Cookin' for a Cause

Clark Gas & Oil, Lowes Foods, and the Patrick County Cattlemen's Associations held the fourth annual "Cookin' For A Cause" on May 21, 2009.  The organizations teamed up to raise the funds and collect food for local Patrick County charities.

Once inside the gates of Clark Gas and Oil, attendees experienced some of the best cooking in Patrick County!  Along with the great food, participants had the opportunity to purchase grab bags, cooking tips, listen to live local musicians and enjoy lots of fun and fellowship.  Cookin' For a Cause has been very successful since it began in 2005.  With over $44,000 in donations and countless pounds of non-perishable food tiems for the needy, this event has provided considerably to Patrick County.

Thanks to enthusiastic volunteers, generous local merchants, talented musicians and cooks, and giving attendees, this year's event raised $12,000 to benefit Patrick County Caring Hearts Free Clinic and Patrick County Food Bank.
